THE THIRD JOYFUL MYSTERY

THE NATIVITY
LORD, GRANT ME THE GRACE OF POVERTY OF SPIRIT
Our Father...

Now this is how the birth of Jesus Christ came about. When his
mother Mary was betrothed to Joseph, but before they lived
together, she was found with child through the holy Spirit.
(Matthew 1:18)
Hail Mary...

Joseph her husband, since he was a righteous man, yet unwilling
to expose her to shame, decided to divorce her quietly.
(Matthew 1:19)
Hail Mary...

Such was his intention when, behold, the angel of the Lord
appeared to him in a dream and said, "Joseph, son of David, do not
be afraid to take Mary your wife into your home. For it is through
the holy Spirit that this child has been conceived in her.
(Matthew 1:20)
Hail Mary...

"She will bear a son and you are to name him Jesus, because he
will save his people from their sins."  (Matthew 1:21)
Hail Mary...

All this took place to fulfill what the Lord had said through the
prophet: "Behold, the virgin shall be with child and bear a son, and
they shall name him Emmanuel," which means "God is with us."
(Matthew 1:22,23)
Hail Mary...

When Joseph awoke, he did as the angel of the Lord had
commanded him and took his wife into his home.  (Matthew 1:24)
Hail Mary...

In those days a decree went out from Caesar Augustus that the
whole world should be enrolled.  (Luke 2:1)
Hail Mary...

And Joseph too went up from Galilee from the town of Nazareth to
Judea, to the city of David that is called Bethlehem, because he
was of the house and family of David, to be enrolled with Mary, his
betrothed, who was with child.  (Luke 2:4,5)
Hail Mary...

While they were there, the time came for her to have her child, and
she gave birth to her firstborn son. She wrapped him in swaddling
clothes and laid him in a manger, because there was no room for
them in the inn.  (Luke 2:6,7)
Hail Mary...

And suddenly there was a multitude of the heavenly host with the
angel, praising God and saying: "Glory to God in the highest and
on earth peace to those on whom his favor rests."  (Luke 2:13,14)
Hail Mary...

The Glory Be....

Glory be to the Father, and to
the Son, and to the Holy Spirit.
As it was in the beginning, is now,
and ever shall be, world
without end.  Amen.
O My Jesus...

O my Jesus, forgive us our sins.
Save us from the fires of Hell;
lead all souls into Heaven,
especially those in most need
of Thy mercy.  Amen.
